The Furrow Parameters dialog window is shown below.
In this dialog window, users specify all additional parameters (in addition to standard HYDRUS parameters) required by the Furrow Module that are needed to fully define the geometry and parameters of the furrow, the furrow spatial and temporal discretizations, as well as the boundary conditions defining irrigation and fertigation.
Main Input
bw Bottom width of the furrow [L]
SS Slope of the furrow sides [-] defined as tan(α) where α is the angle of the slope side.
hmax Depth of the furrow [L]
L Length of the furrow [L]
Mn Manning's roughness coefficient [TL-1/3]
Cinj Solute concentration in the irrigation water [ML3]
Spatial and Temporal Discretization
N Number of Stations, i.e., locations along the furrow with 2D cross-sectional profiles [-].
dt Time interval at which information is exchanged between the Open Channel and Subsurface modules [T]
Outflow Boundary Type
Open End The end of the furrow is open, allowing water to flow over a bring at the end of the furrow
Blocked End The end of the furrow is blocked, i.e., no outflow is allowed until the water level reaches the maximum furrow depth hmax
Time Variable Boundary Conditions
Number of Records Number of time intervals with different boundary conditions (when water of solute inflow changes)
Time Time when the boundary condition changes [T]
Qir Irrigation rate [L3T-1]
Qinj Fertigation rate [L3T-1]
Spatial Coordinates of Cross-Section Profiles/Stations
x Distance of the Cross-Section Profile/Station from the beginning of the furrow
z Height of the Cross-Section Profile/Station relative to the end of the furrow
