Initial Value Problem setting (CXTFIT - STANMOD)

Post by thotran11292 » Thu Aug 08, 2024 5:48 am

Dear all,

I noticed that the forum for STANMOD has been inactive for a while, so I am posting my question here instead. I hope that's okay.

I am using the CXTFIT model to simulate a soil column where the top 5 cm layer is initially contaminated with arsenic. Free-arsenic water continuously infiltrates through the soil column from the top. I want to observe how the arsenic concentration changes over time at a depth of 100 cm in the column. I am struggling with setting the initial value problem in the model and am unsure which option to select from the given choices.

I am looking forward to your suggestions and explanations.

Thank you

Tho Tran

Questions about CXTFIT should not be posted in the HYDRUS forum, but in the STANMOD forum!

You should use the “Stepwise initial distribution”.
