Residual mass

Post by schokoigel » Wed Jan 21, 2009 3:17 pm

Dear all,
currently I am running a column experiment where I observe the concentrations eluted from an contaminated sediment. CXTFIT was used to model the concentration time series with a simple one site non equilibrium model in flux concetration mode. I also would like to know the residual mass that remains in the column after a certain time. Can I calculate the sorbed concentration at time t just by C2(t)*Kd*C0 or is there something else to consider?

Thanks for your help

Yes, as shown in Table 3.1 in the CXTFIT manual, the nondimensional nonequilibrium concentration C2 for the one-site model is equal to s/(Kd co), where s is the adsorption concentration in the kinetic site. Nobuo
