RATES

Parent Previous Next

To define mathematical expressions for kinetic reactions. RATES can be defined anywhere in the database file or in the input file (it is used only after the definition in the input file). For HP1, it is recommended to defined it in the specific block in the HYDRUS-1D GUI to provide additional thermodynamic data (Solute Transport – HP2 Definition: Additions to Thermodynamic Database).

numbered BASIC statements

A sequence of numbered BASIC statements defining the mathematical equations of the rate expression.  The BASIC statements are defined between the -start and -end identifiers. The sequence of statements must extrapolate the rate of reaction over the time subinterval given by the PHREEQC BASIC statement TIME. The last statement must be SAVE.
