Boundary Pressure Heads

Graphs showing distributions versus time of the average pressure head of boundaries having different types of boundary conditions.

Available choices of the independent variable:

• Atmospheric boundary pressure head
• Root zone pressure head
• Variable boundary 1, 2, 3, and 4 pressure head *
• Constant boundary pressure head
• Seepage face pressure head
• Drain boundary pressure head
• Free or Deep drainage boundary pressure head
• Gradient boundary pressure head

* Note that HYDRUS averages the pressure heads across the "Time-Variable Flux 1" and "Time-Variable Head 1" boundaries and report the resulting value as "Variable Boundary Head 1". Similarly for "Time-Variable Flux 2" and "Time-Variable Head 2", and so on.

Information displayed in this graph is read from the H_MEAN.OUT output file. This output file is a Text File, and as such it can be opened with any text editor (e.g., Notepad) or a spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel). Numbers in the output file are separated by spaces (i.e., not by commas or Tabs) and therefore it may be necessary to organize them into columns using some Excel commands, such as "Data->Text to Columns", "Original Data Type: Delimited", and "Delimiters: Spaces". The output files are located, similarly as all input files, in the Working Directory. The exact location of the project folder can be found in the Project Manager.
